CS Murkomen Visits NRB Offices, Urges Kenyans to Acquire National IDs

Today the CS Interior and National Administration, Hon Kipchumba Murkomen, conducted a working tour at the National Registration Bureau offices at the NSSF Building. He was received by the PS Immigration and Citizen Services Dr. Belio R Kipsang and his team. Secretary NRB, Dr. Wanjau, took him through the entire process of registration up to the production of the electronic national identity card. The CS then held a meeting with the NRB Senior Management staff after the production tour.

The PS briefed the CS on the upcoming roll-out of Usajili Mashinani set to begin on 13th October in four counties: West Pokot, Turkana, Elgeyo Marakwet and Baringo.
The CS highlighted the importance of the national ID card and encouraged Kenyans to acquire their National ID card and register as voters in order for them to exercise their democratic rights in the 2027 election. He also addressed the benefits border counties are enjoying after the President’s directive to end extra vetting.
The CS thanked the PS and his team for the comprehensive tour of NRB and commended them on the impressive work they are doing in ensuring IDs are produced within four working days using the live capture machine.
