Kenya’s Progress in Tackling Statelessness through National Registration Reforms

Mr. Christopher Wanjau of the National Registration Bureau shared insights into how Kenya is addressing statelessness by recognizing historically excluded communities through ongoing national registration reforms. These efforts not only advance legal identity for all but also enhance development, economic participation, and social inclusion across the country.

He spoke during the #In5Minutes discussion on legal identity and migration governance in Africa, alongside Ms. Tsitsi Mkonto from the International Organization for Migration (IOM – UN Migration) and Dr. Christian Oldiges from the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA).
